Bled Cup 2018 !

Eine Kaskade an Preisen für die Österreichische Barkeeper Union !
Das ÖBU Team (Christopher Malle, Stefan Egger, Christian Fürthauer, Pavel
Cinkanic, Dominik Wolf und Präs. Alexander Radlowskyj) konnte gleich 4
Trophäen mit nach Hause nehmen.
Dominik Wolf kassierte den Gesamtpreis und gewann den Bled Cup 2018. In der
Kategorie After Dinner gab es dann noch eine Trophäe für den 3. Platz, in
der Kategorie Fancy den 2. und als Krönung den Preis für die beste Technik !

HOW IT ALL BEGAN....
The IWCC is known as one of the oldest and most spectacular competitions in Europe. 23 years ago Peter Weissnegger, IBA vice world champion 1990, organised this event the very first time in cooperation with the ÖBU Austrian Bartenders Association. Every year the most famous bartenders came to the picturesque Wörtherlake to compete for the popular Wörtherlake Cocktail Cup Trophy. Since then the glasses around the lake never got empty and the IWCC became an important role for bartenders and the beverage industry.
In 2010 Mario Hofferer took over the scepter and transform the event to an international major event in the mixology scene. The new IWCC concept paired with international successes and experiences of the MH cocktail entertainment group with the top gastronomy & hotel industry, the IWCC was enlarged in just a few years to more of the 20 participating nations.
National top bartenders and young talents have a year-round family atmosphere Worldstars exchanges the bar scene, making contacts and benefiting from it all the time reinvent creativity of the mixologist scene. The Int. Wörthersee Cocktail Cup stands for the ingenuity of the modern bar, and also the liquid innovation without technical restrictions.
This year the IWCC gets a unique facelift. With our new partner the Therme Loipersdorf as well the 4****+ Hotel Sonnreich we were creating a complete new event production format, which is second to none.
In 2018 the IWCC will be the first time a “Winter Edition Format” and pops over from Wörth Lake to Loipersdorf in Styria

IWCC 2018 WINTER EDITION EVENT PRODUCTION
A LIMOUSINE SERVICE will be available for our foreign guests to pic you up at the airports Graz, Klagenfurt or Vienna (please confirm in advance via info@mario-hofferer.com!). Also during the competition days there will be a SHUTTLE SERVICE for competitors, partners, sponsors & guests available.
After a strenuous trip we will welcome our guests with a charming WELCOME NIGHT in original styrian costumes with traditional delights.
This years “IWCC Winter Edition Welcome Party” will be held in our Hospitality Suite at Hotel Sonnreich ́s Lobby. National Star Djs & famous acts will bring next to delicious cocktails our guests in the right party mood.
As well as a fiercely contested competition, guests & patricipants will have the chance to rub shoulders with the best international bartenders and learn from some of the industry`s most influential people, those at the very top of their game.
Early in Tuesday morning after a wide ranging breakfast our workshops will take place at the Hotel Sonnreich Conference Center. After a Styrian light lunch the IWCC COMPETITION will start on the 27th in the afternoon. The price giving ceremony will take place during the CHAMPIONS NIGHT.
On Wednesday the 28th November 2018 we will provide Tickets to the Therme Loipersdorf for those IWCC guests who wants to stay longer at this wonderful place to find time for body & soul.
Further information will be available at the CHECK IN DESK at Hotel Sonnreich.

The competitors have to prepare 4 drinks. A certain creativity in technique, recipe and of course the presentation of the cocktails are very important.
There is no technical jury on stage, but the working judges will verify the correct recipe. The time limit for preparation of the garnish in the backroom is 20 minutes. Any kind of pre-fixed garnishes made beforehand be not
allowed.
Cocktail glasses, bar equipment, ingredients and garnishes are brought by the
participants themselves.
On Stage, the time limit is 10 minutes for 4 drinks. All competitors have to be prepared to describe the inspiration behind their
cocktail creation in English.
IWCC RULES
All ingredients in the recipe have to be selected from the cooperation partners list as supplied and be fresh or homemade ingredients. Syrups or Liqueurs have been used from the range of MONIN. Homemade syrups are not allowed!
PERMITTED for use in the competition:
§ Molecular Mixology
§ Homemade ice cubes
§ Dry ice
§ Various Bitters (also homemade Bitters)
§ Heated ingredients
§ Foodpairing
§ Easy prepared infusions
§ Unusual presentation on stage e.g.
costumes, masks, fancy glassware ... use
your brains and be creative!
§ etc.
During the competition competitors shall present himself/herself in his/her guild’s dress or in full bartender’s uniform from the company he/she works for. During the Champions Night (price-giving ceremony) competitors can present himself/herself in guild’s dress or Dinner
Jacket/Dress.
The registration & recipe form and hotel room reservations must be filled out till the 12th November 2018. All recipes which
are sent after closing date will not be accepted!

in der Kategorie „After Dinner Drink of the Year“:

WCC World Cocktail Championship 2018 in Tallinn !
die Österreichische Barkeeper Union konnte wieder einmal herausragende Erfolge feiern.
Unter der Führung von Coach Alexander Radlowskyi und Peter Weissnegger heimste das Rezept von Mario Hofferer in der Kategorie "After Dinner Drink of the Year" die Silbermedaille ein !
Flaribartender Karel Kleineidam verpasste mit einer grandiosen Show und einem sehr guten Drink um einen Platz das Finale !
Gratulation an die ÖBU und an alle Teilnehmer !

Red Bull – Anti- Alcoholic Challenge

Strahlendes Sommerwetter und eisgekühlte Sommer Drinks in der „Burg“ am Klopeinersee !
Sowohl den Sommer Cup der ÖBU als auch die Red Bull AA- Challenge gewann Cruder Franco aus Triest mit den Drinks „Red Bull Peace and Love“ und „Elixire Sensuel“ (Rezepte siehe Fotos,
die Qualifikation für die „Marie Brizard Masters“ Competition in Bordeaux gewann Andreas Trattner und wird Österreich würdig im Hause Marie Brizard vertreten.
Die Technikpreise und „Best Dekoration“ gingen an Christian Fürthauer vom Feldbauerhof am Attersee.

Kaiserwetter, ein Schloss und eine Cocktail Competition mit einem Kitzbüheler Cocktail Champion und einem österreichischen Staatsmeister als Endergebnis.
16 Barmixer aus Österreich, Slowenien und Deutschland trafen sich auf der Terrasse des Schlosses Lebenberg in Kitzbühel und kämpften um den 1. Kitzbüheler Cocktail Cup. Eine hochkarätige Jury bestehend aus Andras Ezsi (Sommelier des Hauses), Harald Weidacher (Cocktailspezialist der Tourismusfachschule am Wilden Kaiser), Sandra Löberbauer (Gastgeberin des Hotel Schloss Lebenberg), Thomas Hiessl (Derksen, Leobendorf), Armin Burger (Morandell, Wörgl), Max Weichler (Diageo Austria) und George Marinescu hatten alle Geschmacksknospen voll zu tun, um den Besten von 16 hervorragenden Drinks herauszufiltern.
Präsident Alexander Radlowskyj und Fr. Dir. Sandra Löberbauer, Gastgeberin des Hotels Schloss Lebenberg, konnten nach langem Abwägen der Jury dem Kollegen Markus Banzhaf aus Göppingen die Trophäe des Kitzbüheler Cocktail Cups übergeben.
In den Bewertungen kristallisierten sich Christoph Stadlmayer, Andreas Trattner, Stefan Haneder und Mario Hofferer als Finalisten der National Cocktail Competition heraus.
